Job Profile:
- Overall responsibility for the steel melting operations.
- Supervise and control Induction Furnace melting activities.
- Ensure production of steel as per required grade, quality and specifications.
- Plan and control heat-wise production and melting schedules.
- Monitor scrap, ferro alloys and raw material consumption.
- Ensure correct charge mix and alloy additions for different steel grades.
- Control temperature, tapping and pouring practices.
- Coordinate with the Laboratory/Quality Department for chemical analysis and grade confirmation.
- Take necessary action for chemical correction and heat rejection issues.
- Monitor yield, recovery, power consumption and melting losses.
- Minimize rejection, re-melting and production losses.
- Ensure proper operation and coordination with furnace operators and melting workers.
- Identify and resolve melting-related technical problems.
- Maintain proper heat records, production reports and consumption records.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures in the melting shop.
- Lead, train and supervise the melting team.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Rolling Mill departments.
- Responsible for achieving daily/monthly production and quality targets.
Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma/B.Tech in Metallurgy / Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 8–15 years of experience in steel melting, preferably in an Induction Furnace Steel Plant.
- Strong practical knowledge of steel grades, melting practices, ferro alloys, charge mix, temperature control and alloy correction.
- Should have experience in independently handling a melting shop/team.
- Strong leadership and troubleshooting skills.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
