Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Laser Machine Operator with hands-on expertise in operating CNC laser cutting machines and troubleshooting machine-related issues in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should be capable of ensuring uninterrupted production, maintaining quality standards, and performing preventive maintenance to maximize machine efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Fiber Laser/CO₂ Laser cutting machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and production work orders.
- Configure machine parameters based on material type, thickness, and cutting requirements.
- Perform precision laser cutting while ensuring dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Troubleshoot machine alarms, cutting defects, alignment issues, nozzle problems, gas pressure variations, and other operational issues.
- Diagnose and resolve minor electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues to minimize production downtime.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for major machine repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final quality inspections.
- Replace consumables including nozzles, lenses, protective glass, filters, and cutting heads as required.
- Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, calibration, and routine preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce material wastage.
- Record production data, machine downtime, maintenance activities, and quality reports.
- Follow production schedules while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and 5S standards.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
Required Skills
- Strong experience operating CNC Fiber Laser or CO₂ Laser cutting machines.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills related to laser machine operations, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and cutting process issues.
- Knowledge of CNC machine settings, cutting parameters, and material optimization.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication layouts.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle production targets under minimal supervision.
Experience
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication industry.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting machine breakdowns, process optimization, and preventive maintenance.
Pay: ₹11,466.56 - ₹27,271.66 per month
