We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer specialising in Firefighting Systems to lead the design, coordination, and technical execution of fire protection projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end system design, compliance, technical review, supporting project execution and training/over-seeing junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of firefighting systems including sprinkler systems, hydrant networks, fire pump rooms, water spray/deluge systems, suppression systems (CO₂/Clean Agent), and fire detection & alarm systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and ensure compliance with NBC, relevant IS standards, NFPA, and project specifications.
- Prepare and review detailed drawings, technical submittals, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Conduct site visits across India to assess site conditions, validate designs, and resolve technical challenges.
- Coordinate with project, procurement, and execution teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
- Provide technical support during tendering, cost estimation, testing, and commissioning.
- Mentor junior engineers and review design deliverables before submission.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in firefighting system design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of NBC, IS codes, NFPA, and fire protection design principles.
- Experience in hydraulic calculations and system sizing.
- Ability to independently handle multiple projects and client coordination.
- Willingness to travel for site surveys and project support.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience in testing and commissioning of firefighting systems.
- Exposure to industrial/commercial projects.
- Experience in preparing techno-commercial proposals and cost estimates.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
