Position Summary
The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will provide engineering, ERP, purchasing, and manufacturing systems support to Company manufacturing operations in the United States. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate ERP data and supporting purchasing, production planning, engineering documentation, and manufacturing processes to ensure efficient execution of customer orders.
The position serves as an extension of the US Product Management and Operations teams, helping improve data accuracy, process efficiency, and overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain items, Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and production data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Create and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Assist with supplier communication, order tracking, and expediting.
- Support production planning and scheduling activities.
- Maintain engineering revisions and manufacturing documentation.
- Create work orders and production packages.
- Monitor inventory transactions and support inventory accuracy.
- Maintain vendor, customer, and item master data.
- Support Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation.
- Support product costing and standard cost maintenance.
- Prepare reports and perform ERP data validation.
- Assist with ERP enhancements, workflows, and process automation.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Sales to resolve operational issues.
- Assist with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, production planning, supply chain, or ERP support.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or similar.
- Understanding of BOMs, routings, manufacturing processes, purchasing, inventory management, and production planning.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation preferred.
Skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of manufacturing workflows, documentation, and ERP data management.
- Proactive, willing to learn, and possessing a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with US-based teams.
