We are hiring Design Engineers – Powertrain (PWT) to join our automotive engineering team in Chennai. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in powertrain component design, CATIA, and GD&T, who are passionate about developing next-generation automotive and electric vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design powertrain components using CATIA (2D, 3D, and simulations).
- Prepare assembly drawings and define assembly constraints.
- Create and maintain design documentation and engineering files.
- Manage digital mock-ups (DMU) and packaging activities.
- Update product drawings, 3D annotations, and maintain design data in PLM systems.
- Ensure product and process feasibility by considering manufacturing, packaging, geometry, and boundary conditions.
- Participate in design reviews and support technical convergence throughout the product development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering.
- 1–7 years of experience in powertrain component design.
- Strong proficiency in CATIA.
- Good knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Understanding of automotive components and product development processes.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) systems, including Power Electronics.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and design standards.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
