Job Summary:
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, equipment, and services required for refractory and synthetic ceramic manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, and delivery performance from suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Procurement:

Purchase refractory raw materials (e.g., alumina, magnesia, silica, zircon, kaolin, binders, etc.), kiln furniture, and ceramic components as per production requirements.
2. Supplier Management:

Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for refractory materials and ceramic components.
3. Negotiation & Cost Control:

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to achieve optimal cost savings while ensuring material quality and compliance with specifications.
4. Inventory Coordination:

Collaborate with production and inventory teams to maintain appropriate stock levels, avoid shortages, and minimize excess inventory.
5. Order & Documentation Management:

Prepare purchase orders, maintain procurement records, and ensure compliance with company policies and international trade regulations (if applicable).
6. Market Analysis:

Monitor market trends, explore new materials, and identify alternative suppliers in the refractory and ceramics industry to ensure competitive sourcing strategies.
