Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Leading recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding to build high-performing teams.
- Employee Relations & Retention: Resolving conflicts, managing grievances, improving employee engagement, and conducting exit interviews to increase retention.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, OSHA) and updating employee handbooks.
- Performance & Compensation Management: Developing and managing performance appraisal systems, wage reviews, and benefits administration (e.g., insurance, retirement).
- Training & Development: Facilitating professional development, training, and succession planning.
- Strategic Planning: Advising leadership on organizational structure, talent planning, and HR initiatives, utilizing HR analytics to guide decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Generally, 3+ years in human resources, often requiring a bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related fields.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and, in some cases, AI tools.
- Certifications: Certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR are often preferred. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Common Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar, such as HR Generalist or Business Partner.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
