Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure uninterrupted production and safe plant operations. The role requires flexibility to work in rotational shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant electrical equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in production machinery, motors, control panels, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, and lighting systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, switchgear, control panels, and industrial electrical equipment.
- Monitor and maintain electrical utilities to ensure smooth production operations.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and circuit layouts.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential electrical issues and prevent equipment failure.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, spare parts consumption, and equipment history.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and electrical systems.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and ensure safe working practices at all times.
Qualification
- ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Electrical License (Wireman/Supervisor) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as an Electrician in a manufacturing or process industry.
- Experience in Copper, Lead, Metal, Steel, Chemical, or Heavy Engineering industries is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot motors, control panels, MCCs, VFDs, sensors, and electrical circuits.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems will be an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a strong safety mindset.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Should be available for emergency maintenance and breakdown calls.
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, and industrial equipment while following all PPE and safety requirements.

- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Gummidipoondi or nearby locations.
- Physically fit and capable of working in an industrial environment.
