- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in CNC laser cutting machine programming and sheet-metal manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in preparing programs from engineering drawings and managing production-related material requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM and laser nesting software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SigmaNEST, Lantek, TruTops, or equivalent.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Sound knowledge of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other sheet-metal materials.
- Understanding of fiber or CO₂ laser cutting processes, cutting gases, and machine parameters.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Good planning, coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Stores, and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, develop, and optimize CNC laser cutting programs from approved engineering drawings, CAD files, and production specifications.
- Review, interpret, organize, and maintain technical drawings, including revisions, dimensions, tolerances, material grades, and thicknesses.
- Convert drawings into machine-ready programs using suitable CAD/CAM and nesting software.
- Set and optimize cutting parameters, including cutting speed, laser power, gas selection, piercing conditions, and kerf compensation.
- Create efficient nesting layouts to maximize sheet utilization, reduce scrap, and control production costs.
- Check production requirements and arrange the correct materials in the required grades, thicknesses, sizes, and quantities before cutting.
- Coordinate with Stores, Planning, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure materials are available on time.
- Verify materials against job orders, drawings, and specifications before releasing them for cutting.
- Support machine setup, trial cutting, and first-piece inspection, and make programming adjustments where required.
- Ensure completed laser-cut parts are correctly identified, counted, documented, and supplied to the Production Department on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, drawings, material consumption, scrap, job status, and drawing revisions.
- Troubleshoot programming and cutting issues and coordinate with operators, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve problems.
- Follow all workplace safety, machine safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures.
- Operating the Machine when required to complete the tasks.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related mechanical trade.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
