Position Summary
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating visually compelling designs that support Khalsa Aid India's communication, fundraising, advocacy, and outreach initiatives. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate humanitarian stories into impactful visual content across digital and print platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Design & Brand Management
- Design creative assets for digital and print communication in line with Khalsa Aid India's brand guidelines.
- Develop concepts, layouts, and visual designs for campaigns, events, and organizational initiatives.
- Ensure consistency of branding across all communication materials.
- Contribute innovative ideas to strengthen visual storytelling and audience engagement.
2. Digital Media Design
- Create graphics for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and WhatsApp.
- Design web banners, emailers, infographics, digital advertisements, and presentation templates.
- Develop campaign creatives for fundraising and advocacy initiatives.
- Produce motion graphics and simple animations where required.
3. Print Design
- Design brochures, annual reports, impact reports, newsletters, posters, standees, flyers, certificates, and event branding materials.
- Coordinate with vendors and printers to ensure quality and timely production of printed materials.
- Prepare print-ready files with appropriate specifications.
4. Multimedia & Visual Storytelling
- Support photo editing and enhancement for communication materials.
- Assist in creating visual narratives highlighting field interventions and beneficiary stories.
- Collaborate with videographers and content teams to create engaging visual content.
- Design presentations for leadership, donor meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
5. Coordination & Project Management
- Work closely with Communications, Fundraising, Programs, and HR teams to understand design requirements.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Maintain organized archives of design files and creative assets.
- Stay updated with emerging design trends and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia, or a related field.
- Formal certification in graphic design software will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in graphic design.
- Experience in the non-profit, humanitarian, development, or social impact sector will be preferred.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and versatility across digital and print media.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar motion graphics/video editing tools.
- Familiarity with Canva and presentation design tools.
- Understanding of typography, layout, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Knowledge of preparing print-ready artwork.
- Basic photography and photo editing skills will be an advantage.
