Job Summary:
A Career Counselor helps students, graduates, and professionals identify their career goals, make informed educational and occupational decisions, and develop skills for career success. The counselor provides guidance through assessments, counseling sessions, career planning, and job readiness support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group career counseling sessions.
- Administer and interpret career, aptitude, personality, and interest assessments.
- Help clients identify strengths, interests, values, and career goals.
- Guide students in selecting appropriate courses, colleges, and career paths.
- Provide information on educational opportunities, scholarships, and admissions.
- Assist with resume writing, cover letters, and LinkedIn profile development.
- Conduct mock interviews and job-readiness training.
- Organize career guidance workshops, seminars, and awareness programs.
- Maintain counseling records and prepare reports.
- Build relationships with educational institutions, employers, and training organizations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, employment opportunities, and emerging careers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology.
- Certification in Career Counseling (preferred).
- Knowledge of career assessment tools and counseling techniques.
- Experience in student counseling or career guidance is an advantage.
