Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting financial decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS)
- Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) oversight
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax filings
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Improve and streamline accounting processes and controls
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–7+ years of accounting experience (depending on organization)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP/IFRS)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA / CA / ACCA or equivalent certification
- Experience in financial reporting and audit processes
- Knowledge of ERP systems
