Job Description – PHE BIM Modeler (Piping & Fire)
Position: PHE BIM Modeler (Plumbing, HVAC Piping & Fire Fighting)
Department: MEP / BIM
Experience: 1–5 Years (or as required)
Location: Chennai
The PHE BIM Modeler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining detailed 3D BIM models for Plumbing, HVAC piping, and Fire Fighting systems using BIM software. The role includes preparing shop drawings, clash detection, and ensuring models comply with project specifications and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modeling & Drafting
- Create 3D BIM models for Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and HVAC piping systems using Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, or similar tools.
- Develop detailed shop drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings from BIM models.
- Model water supply, drainage, storm water, sewage, fire sprinkler, hydrant, and hose reel systems.
Coordination & Clash Detection
- Perform clash detection and coordination with Electrical, Structural, and Architectural teams.
- Resolve clashes and update models as per coordination meetings.
- Maintain model accuracy according to design and site changes.
Documentation & Deliverables
- Prepare BOQs, material take-offs, and schedules from BIM models.
- Maintain BIM standards, templates, and families.
- Ensure drawings and models comply with NFPA, NBC, ASHRAE, and project specifications.
Project Support
- Support design engineers and site teams with BIM outputs.
- Update as-built drawings and final project documentation.
- Follow company BIM execution plan (BEP) and modeling standards.
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Revit MEP / Revit PHE / AutoCAD MEP / Navisworks
- Knowledge of Plumbing & Fire Fighting system design principles
- Experience in clash detection and BIM coordination
- Understanding of PHE codes & standards (NFPA, NBC, IS, ASHRAE)
- Ability to extract quantities and schedules from BIM models
Soft Skills
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a team and meet project deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Dynamo, BIM 360, ACC, or BIM workflows is an added advantage
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
