Job Summary
The Chartered Accountant is responsible for overseeing the hospital's financial operations, ensuring statutory compliance, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, coordinating audits, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards, taxation laws, and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund management.
- Prepare MIS reports and financial dashboards for management review.
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Accounting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
- Review and file GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
- Coordinate with statutory, internal, tax, and secretarial auditors.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance requirements.
- Maintain proper accounting records and statutory documentation.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare annual budgets and departmental financial plans.
- Monitor departmental budgets and analyze budget variances.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Support pricing and profitability analysis for hospital services.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Develop and strengthen financial controls and accounting policies.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures.
- Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure adherence to hospital financial policies and approval matrices.
Taxation
- Manage GST, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Coordinate tax assessments and respond to notices from regulatory authorities.
- Ensure optimal tax planning while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Audit & Reporting
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and financial documentation.
- Implement audit recommendations and strengthen internal controls.
- Present financial reports and key performance indicators to management.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Qualified (Mandatory)
- Additional qualifications such as CMA or MBA (Finance) are an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in hospitals, healthcare, or multispecialty healthcare organizations is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in financial reporting, taxation, audit, and budgeting.
