Job Summary:
The Assistant Works Manager will support the Works Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations in the sheet metal unit. The role focuses on production planning, manpower management, quality control, and ensuring smooth shop floor operations while meeting production targets and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing day-to-day production activities in sheet metal fabrication (cutting, bending, welding, assembly).
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per planning schedules.
- Monitor machine utilization and optimize productivity.
- Supervise shop floor manpower and allocate tasks effectively.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, maintenance, and stores departments.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards and reduce rejection rates.
- Ensure proper implementation of safety practices on the shop floor.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
- Track production reports, downtime, and efficiency metrics.
- Assist in handling audits and compliance requirements.
- Identify process improvements to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding).
- Good leadership and team handling skills.
- Ability to manage production planning and scheduling.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
