Purpose of the Job : This position involves a focused approach to core quality control, assurance and fabrication inspection / testing activities of the company.
Education (Must) : DME / BE (Mech)
Scope / Impact : Rework reduction, quality of product, process control, controlling customer complaint
1. Incoming inspection: Ensure all raw material and bought out items are inspected as per process.
2. In-process inspection: Co-ordinate with PRO and PRJ to carry out all in-process inspection as applicable.
3. Final inspection and customer co-ordination: Carry out final inspection of the product. Co-ordinate with them to ensure smooth clearance of the product. If there are any punch points, ensure these are cleared promptly.
4. Job documentation: Ensure the documentation is done as per the job requirement and is submitted in a timely manner.
5. Vendor approval: Carry out vendor inspection to certify/recertify vendors.
6. Vendor quality rating: Ensure appropriate data is captured for every job executed to be able to rate vendors on a regular frequency.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential Knowledge:
- Knowledge of metals (mainly various grades of steel).
- Knowledge of various inspection / testing methods for the process including welding.
- Knowledge of process standard (welding, blasting, painting)
- Calibration and records - Knowledge of acceptance criteria.
- Vendor evaluation

- Damper operation / efficiency testing.

- Prepare QAP for the jobs.
- Execute the inspection activities at all stages.
