Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and committed Maths and Science Teacher to teach students from Primary (Grades 1–5) and Secondary (Grades 6–10) as per the Maharashtra State Board (SSC) curriculum. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, building strong conceptual understanding, preparing students for examinations, and fostering analytical thinking and scientific temperament in a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and deliver Mathematics and Science lessons in accordance with the Maharashtra State Board (SSC) curriculum.
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans, teaching aids, worksheets, and assessment materials.
- Build strong conceptual foundations in Mathematics and Science for Primary students.
- Teach advanced Mathematics and General Science concepts to Secondary students with emphasis on practical application and problem-solving.
- Complete the prescribed syllabus within the academic calendar while maintaining quality teaching standards.
Student Assessment
- Conduct periodic assessments, unit tests, oral examinations, practical activities, and semester examinations.
- Evaluate answer sheets, assignments, notebooks, projects, and practical work.
- Analyse student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify slow learners and gifted students and implement appropriate support or enrichment programmes.
- Prepare students effectively for SSC Board examinations through revision plans, practice papers, and doubt-solving sessions.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage participation, collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking.
- Foster values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
Parent & School Communication
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress.
- Communicate academic performance and behavioural progress to parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, coordinators, and school leadership to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Participate actively in school assemblies, educational exhibitions, science fairs, mathematics competitions, and co-curricular activities.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, training programmes, and professional development sessions.
- Stay updated with changes in the Maharashtra SSC curriculum, teaching methodologies, and educational technologies.
- Perform examination duties, invigilation, evaluation, and other responsibilities assigned by the school administration.
Primary Section Responsibilities (Grades 1–5)
- Develop foundational numeracy, measurement, geometry, and logical reasoning skills.
- Introduce basic scientific concepts through experiments, observations, storytelling, activities, and educational games.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and inquiry-based learning.
- Support students' academic, emotional, and social development.
Secondary Section Responsibilities (Grades 6–10)
- Teach Mathematics and General Science according to the Maharashtra SSC syllabus.
- Strengthen students' analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Conduct laboratory demonstrations and practical activities wherever applicable.
- Prepare students for SSC Board examinations using previous years' question papers, competency-based learning, and regular revision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc./B.A.) with Mathematics and/or Science as major subjects.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized university (mandatory or as per school norms).
- Master's Degree in Mathematics or Science will be an added advantage.
- Qualification as per Government of Maharashtra and State Education Department norms.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in an SSC Board school preferred.
- Fresh candidates with strong subject knowledge and teaching aptitude may also apply.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Maharashtra SSC Mathematics and Science curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement.
- Lesson planning and curriculum implementation.
- Assessment, evaluation, and remedial teaching skills.
- Ability to use smart boards, educational software, MS Office, and Google Workspace.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
