Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing procurement activities, sourcing vendors, negotiating prices, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining proper purchase records. The role focuses on cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards to support smooth company operations. (JustJob)
Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day purchasing activities for raw materials, consumables, tools, equipment, and services.
- Identify and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate rates and terms.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up with suppliers.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials as per production/project requirements.
- Coordinate with stores, accounts, production, and project departments.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, invoices, and documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Verify material quality and coordinate replacement in case of defects.
- Track pending orders and update management regularly.
- Maintain cost-saving initiatives and procurement efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- Support audits by maintaining proper purchase documentation. (Monster.com)

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement.
- Experience in manufacturing, HVAC, engineering, or industrial sector preferred.
Preferred Knowledge
- GST and invoice process understanding
- Vendor development and sourcing
- Inventory management basics
- Local and domestic market procurement knowledge
