The primary focus of an ETP/STP operator in a paint shop is to ensure the safe and efficient treatment of generated during the paint manufacturing process.
Responsible for running and monitoring wastewater treatment systems, ensuring all units function smoothly and meet regulatory standards.
Maintain process parameters, perform routine inspections, sampling, and documentation, and ensure treated water meets environmental norms.

Handle chemical dosing, equipment maintenance checks, sludge management, and housekeeping.

Manage high pressure systems like RO, MEE, and ATFD to achieve maximum water recovery. They report abnormalities and coordinate with maintenance teams for corrective actions.

Perform cleaning cycles (CIP) of RO membranes and evaporator systems when required. Manage salt recovery, evaporation residue handling, and safe disposal.
Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a B.Sc. in Chemistry/ 12th pass with strong vocational training in ETP/STP operations and safety. 1–3 years of hands-on experience in operating ETP/STP plants, preferably within the manufacturing, chemical, or paint/coating industry.
