Job Summary:
SRM Global Hospital, a premier multi-specialty healthcare institution in Chennai, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR).
The ideal candidate will lead our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to restore optimal function and enhance the quality of life for patients recovering from neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, amputations, and major surgeries. This role offers excellent clinical exposure within a state-of-the-art facility, working alongside orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, and advanced therapy teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Evaluation & Care: Conduct comprehensive physical and functional assessments for outpatients and inpatients requiring rehabilitation.
- Treatment Planning: Design, implement, and monitor individualized, goal-oriented rehabilitation programs for stroke recovery, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, sports injuries, and chronic pain management.
- Multidisciplinary Leadership: Lead and coordinate with a dedicated team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and prosthetists/orthotists.
- Procedures: Perform specialized PMR interventions, including intra-articular injections, trigger point injections, spasticity management (including Botox interventions), and diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound if required.
- Continuum of Care: Manage post-operative orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation to ensure safe transitions from acute care to functional independence.
- Compliance & Quality: Maintain rigorous clinical documentation and ensure adherence to NABH hospital standards and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: MD / DNB / Diploma in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) from an NMC-recognized institution.
- Experience: 1 year and above of post-qualification experience as a Consultant or Senior Resident in a structured rehab or multi-specialty hospital setup.
- Registration: Valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council (or National Medical Commission).
- Skills: Strong clinical diagnostic skills, excellent leadership abilities to guide therapy teams, and empathetic communication with patients and long-term care families.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per month
