Data Engineer

Duration: 3 Months (Contract)
Shift Timing: 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics and Tableau to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable data solutions, building efficient ETL pipelines, and delivering impactful analytics through dashboards and reporting tools.
This role requires a strong foundation in data engineering, cloud-based data platforms, SQL optimization, and business intelligence reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure data services.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation workflows.
- Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources into centralized data warehouse or lakehouse environments.
- Build, enhance, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business teams, analysts, and data scientists to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Implement data quality checks, governance frameworks, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data reliability.
- Automate data processing and transformation tasks using Python, Spark, or similar technologies.
- Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance and troubleshoot data-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards for data security, privacy, and governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- SQL Development and Optimization
- Tableau Dashboard Development
- Solid understanding of:
- ETL/ELT processes
- Data Modeling
- Data Warehousing Concepts
- Data Integration Best Practices
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and cloud-based data engineering solutions.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or Scala for data transformation and automation.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Databricks or other big data processing platforms.
- Knowledge of Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools.
- Understanding of Azure cloud architecture, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
- Exposure to machine learning workflows, MLOps, or data science pipelines.
- Experience working in distributed or remote teams.
