JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and specifications.
Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of construction materials, workmanship, and completed structures to verify adherence to quality standards.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality control processes, Inspection results, and non-conformity. Generate reports for management and stakeholders.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in construction processes and work collaboratively with project teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address quality-related issues and implement corrective measures.
Training: Provide training to construction personnel on quality control processes, standards, and best practices.
Non-Conformance Resolution: Investigate and resolve non-conformance issues promptly. Implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Supplier Quality: Evaluate and monitor the quality of materials and components supplied by external vendors and ensure they meet specified standards.
Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments related to quality and develop strategies to mitigate potential quality-related risks.
The role of a Quality Engineer in a construction company is crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects with high-quality standards and compliance.
Check the daily progress of the work done. Planning of work as per given targets and arranging and coordinating resources required like (manpower, spryer, machineries) to carried out the work.
NDT on site: Conducting inspections and assessments directly at the location, core cutting (extracting samples for further examination).
Assessing soil: Soil investigation, soil composition, soil combination etc. to be coordinated with the lab consultant.
Lab setup and arranging equipment on site for material testing.
RMC: Coordination with RMC consultant.
Planning of work executing it with proper quality as per method statement and client's requirement.
Inspection of work on daily basis to review the quality and to achieve the targets. Reviewing the quantities that have work done, processing for the billing and certification. Work to be done as per the mentioned in contract.
Preparation/drafting of intimation letter, incident report with attached photograph/mail. Preparation of any additional reports as required by the authority.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of experience in quality assurance and control within the construction industry.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer(CQE).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction codes, standards, and quality management systems. Familiarity with testing procedures and equipment.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues effectively.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all aspects of construction projects align with quality standards.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to construction quality and safety.
