Ours is an exponentially growing organization in Water, Wastewater and Reuse consultancy sector for both governments as well as private players. Position Details
● Designation: Safety Expert
● Qualification: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and
Engineering
● Location: Jalgaon-Bhusawal Region, Maharashtra
● Experience: 2-5 years
● Employment type: Full-time
● Reports to: Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
● Monitor execution works ensuring safety compliance.
● Conduct continuous site inspections to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
● Verify tools, equipment, and machinery for quality and compliance with safety standards.
● Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety guidelines, programs, and HSE plans.
● Organise safety drills and emergency response exercises at project sites.
● Investigate accidents/incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective measures.
● Review and verify submission of safety reports to authorities and clients.
● Respond promptly to workers’ safety concerns and act as a liaison between departments.
● Coordinate with construction managers during project planning to integrate safety practices.
● Arrange OSHA/IS/Factory Act-mandated evaluations and ensure statutory compliance.
● Monitor handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
● Test and validate the effectiveness of emergency response plans at sites.
● Maintain and update safety-related documents, reports, and incident registers.
● Provide technical advice and training on health and safety standards to project staff.
Knowledge & Skills
● Experience in water/sewage projects; knowledge of state DSRs and estimation of project
components.
● Understanding of STP, WTP, pumping systems, and distribution/collection networks.
● Knowledge of sewage/water quality specifications, clearances, and permissions.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (mandatory).
● Familiarity with Primavera/MSP (advantageous).
● Strong documentation and technical reporting skills.
● Exposure to construction/PMC of STPs, sewerage networks, water supply, pumping machinery,
and related infrastructure
6. Leadership & Teamwork
● Strong knowledge of Indian safety regulations and international standards (OSHA/ISO 45001).
● Hands-on experience with construction safety in water, sewage, and infrastructure projects.
● Excellent communication, observation, and organisational skills.
● Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
● Maintain proactive communication with clients and internal teams.
Mandatory Qualifications
● Education: Degree/Diploma in Safety Engineering / Industrial Safety / Environmental Science or
equivalent.
● Licensed/registered: Safety expert with valid Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH,
OSHA, or equivalent).
● Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in water/wastewater or infrastructure
projects.
● Technical Skills: Safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigation, HSE reporting, and
emergency preparedness.
● Professional Traits: Proactive, detail-oriented, team-oriented, with the ability to train and
influence multidisciplinary teams.
