The Role
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Fashion Designer to join our Kolkata design studio. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing new collections that align with Istya’s signature style—incorporating intricate elements like cutworks, crystals, and geometrical floral patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Collection Development: Design and develop seasonally relevant collections, from mood boards and sketching to final production.
- Technical Design: Create detailed tech packs and flat sketches. Ensure precision in cutwork patterns and crystal embellishment placements.
- Sourcing: Handpick premium fabrics (with a focus on silks, Chinon, and organza) and manage relationships with vendors in the Kolkata market.
- Sampling & Fitting: Oversee the sampling process, working closely with masters and tailors to ensure perfect fit, drape, and finishing.
- Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends in Indian ethnic and Indo-western wear while maintaining the brand's unique identity.
- Quality Control: Supervise the production cycle to ensure every piece meets Istya’s high-quality standards.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in the Indian ethnic wear or luxury retail segment.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design (NIFT, NID, or similar reputable institutions preferred).
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong hand-sketching and illustration skills.
- Deep understanding of garment construction, embroidery techniques, and fabric behavior.
- Mindset: A "high-fashion" editorial eye with a passion for realistic, premium aesthetics. You should be able to translate heritage inspirations into modern, wearable art.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
