The HR Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and ensuring that all human resource activities and project site operations comply with local, state, and central labor laws. This role serves as the primary safeguard against regulatory risks, ensuring statutory filings are flawless and company policies are up to date.
Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory Compliance Management
- Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable Indian labor laws, including but not limited to:
- Updated Four Labour Codes
- Maternity Benefit Act and POSH Act
- Prepare, verify, and submit all monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns on time.
- Maintain all mandatory registers, records, and notices at the corporate office and various project sites.
2. Vendor & Contractor Compliance
- Audit and monitor third-party contractors and labor vendors to ensure they comply with labor laws, minimum wage distributions, and timely PF/ESIC deposits.
- Verify contractor compliance documents before clearing monthly invoices.
3. Audits & Liaisoning
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external compliance audits.
- Liaise with government labor officials, inspectors, and legal consultants during inspections or to resolve notices/disputes.
- Conduct regular internal compliance audits across different project sites and implement corrective action plans.
4. Policy Formulation & Advisory
- Review, update, and implement internal HR policies to reflect changes in employment legislation.
- Educate site managers and the broader HR team on compliance requirements to minimize operational risks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA/MSW) or a PG Diploma in Labor Laws is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven experience working specifically in HR Compliance or Statutory Compliance. Experience in the Infrastructure, Real Estate, or Construction industry is a strong advantage.
- Legal Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Indian Labor Laws and statutory frameworks.
- Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with the ability to spot compliance gaps in payroll, contractor bills, and site registers.
- Communication: Strong negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) for effective liaisoning with government authorities and internal stakeholders.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
