Job Summary
A Solar Engineer designs, develops, and oversees the installation and performance of solar power systems. This role involves technical planning, system optimization, and ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design solar photovoltaic (PV) systems based on site conditions and energy needs
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield analysis
- Prepare system layouts, electrical schematics, and technical drawings
- Select appropriate components (panels, inverters, batteries, etc.)
- Oversee installation and commissioning of solar systems
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and local regulations
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and installation teams
- Prepare reports, documentation, and cost estimates
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical principles
- Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.)
- Understanding of grid-connected and off-grid systems
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
