- Staff Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate kitchen staff, including new hires, to maintain a productive and skilled team.
- Food Preparation Oversight: Monitor cooking processes, ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Inventory Management: Track ingredient usage, maintain stock levels, place timely orders, and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, conduct regular checks, and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Monitor kitchen equipment, schedule maintenance or repairs, and ensure cleanliness of workspaces.
- Menu Support: Collaborate with chefs and management to develop new dishes, manage food costs, and suggest menu improvements.
- Scheduling and Workflow Coordination: Create staff schedules, manage breaks, and coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure timely service.
- Problem Solving: Address operational issues, resolve staff conflicts, and adapt to fast-paced kitchen challenges.
