Job Role: Product Specialist – Product Management Support
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Specialist to support Product Management initiatives related to product development, vendor coordination, market research, and product lifecycle management.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, along with the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities, manage product-related data, and support go-to-market readiness activities. This role will play a key part in evaluating market opportunities, supporting product launches, and maintaining accurate product information across systems and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
· Assist Product Specialist in the development, implementation, and management of product programs and initiatives.
· Interact with vendors and suppliers to optimize supplier relationships and support product-related activities.
· Conduct market research to analyze market pricing, customer buying behavior, annual unit potential, and competitive landscape.
· Evaluate competitor product offerings to identify product differentiation, market gaps, and growth opportunities.
· Assess vendor and fulfillment options, including stocked and drop-ship programs, while identifying suitable supplier opportunities.
· Analyze product cost structures, margins, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and lead time to support business decision-making
· Summarize research findings and present insights into Product Management for review and evaluation.
· Partner with Product Management teams to support approved products through the pre-launch process, including inventory tracking and launch coordination.
· Manage new item setup activities by collecting, validating, and submitting vendor and product-related information for internal system processing.
· Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate product setup and maintenance within organizational systems.
· Gather and organize vendor-provided product marketing content, including product descriptions, specifications, and images to support go-to-market readiness.
· Monitor and analyze category and new item performance using Business Intelligence (BI) tools, including sales trends, inventory performance, and category-level reporting.
· Maintain, update, and improve product data accuracy throughout the product lifecycle by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
· Attend and actively participate in internal meetings, product reviews, training sessions, and cross-functional discussions.
· Promptly escalate concerns, discrepancies, or process-related issues to the leadership team when necessary.
· Maintain consistent productivity, quality standards, and adherence to organizational KPIs and timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
· Strong understanding of market research, competitor analysis, and customer buying behavior.
· Excellent organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
· Basic understanding of product costing, margins, inventory concepts, and supply chain processes.
· Experience in vendor coordination, product management support, or related operational functions is preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and reporting tools.
· Ability to utilize Business Intelligence (BI) tools for sales, inventory, and category analysis.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
· High level of reliability, accuracy, and integrity while handling business-critical product and vendor information.
· Adaptability to evolving business processes and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and technologies.
Education and Certification
Any Degree – Experience or educational background related to Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields is an added advantage.
