About the Role
As a Field Counsellor, you will visit hospitals and clinics to support doctors in running Severe Asthma Clinics. Your role is to help with patient screening, inhaler training, and clinic coordination.
Note: You will not provide medical advice, diagnose patients, or recommend treatments. All medical decisions will be made by the doctor.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinic Visits
- Visit assigned hospitals and clinics as per the schedule.
- Work 6 days a week.
- Attend up to 2 clinics in a day.
- Support at least 6 clinics every week.
- Maintain more than 90% attendance at assigned clinics.
2. Support Doctors During Clinics
Help doctors by:
- Conducting the Asthma Control Test (ACT).
- Assisting with breathing tests such as Spirometry, FeNO, and Reversibility Test (where applicable).
- Checking whether patients are using their inhalers correctly.
- Teaching patients the correct way to use inhalers.
You should not:
- Explain or interpret test results.
- Give medical advice or prescriptions.
- Stay inside the doctor's consultation room.
3. Patient Education
- Teach patients how to use inhalers correctly.
- Educate patients about managing severe asthma.
- Communicate in a professional and patient-friendly manner.
- Follow the approved program guidelines at all times.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Record daily clinic activities accurately.
- Share daily updates with the Program Manager.
- Help prepare monthly reports, including:
- Number of clinics conducted
- Number of patients enrolled
- Patient follow-up visits
- Inhaler technique issues identified
- Clinic deployment details
- Submit all reports on time.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Report any adverse events or safety concerns within 24 hours.
- Follow company policies on ethics, patient privacy, and compliance.
- Obtain required patient and doctor consent before program activities.
- Do not store patient test or diagnostic data.
Education
Graduate with any of the following backgrounds preferred:
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM
- Respiratory Therapy
- Physiotherapy (BPT)
- Pulmonary Function Technician
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with respiratory experience
Experience
- Experience in respiratory care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in Patient Support Programs is an advantage.
- Exposure to hospitals or clinical settings is preferred.
Skills Required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in the local language is mandatory.
- Basic English communication is preferred.
- Ability to explain inhaler usage in a simple way.
- Good discipline and willingness to travel for field work.
- Strong understanding of compliance and patient confidentiality.
Important Guidelines
The Field Counsellor must:
- Not provide medical advice.
- Not explain test results.
- Not discuss prescriptions or treatment plans.
- Not store patient medical records.
- Not stay inside the doctor's consultation during patient visits.
Performance Expectations (KPIs)
- Maintain at least 90% attendance at assigned clinics.
- Complete assigned clinic visits on time.
- Report all adverse events within 24 hours.
- Follow all compliance guidelines without violations.
- Submit accurate monthly reports within 5–7 working days.
- Maintain accurate patient and clinic records.
- Keep unplanned leave below 5%.
- Meet additional program goals assigned by the organization from time to time.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
