Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Horticulturist with at least 3 years of experience in indoor plant management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health, appearance, and longevity of indoor plants across client locations or company premises while ensuring high standards of plant care and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and care for a wide variety of indoor plants, ensuring optimal growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Monitor plant health and identify nutrient deficiencies, diseases, and pest infestations.
- Perform watering, pruning, trimming, fertilization, repotting, and soil replacement as required.
- Develop and implement plant maintenance schedules based on species-specific requirements.
- Recommend suitable indoor plant varieties based on lighting, humidity, and environmental conditions.
- Ensure proper irrigation practices and monitor moisture levels to prevent overwatering or underwatering.
- Apply safe and effective pest and disease management techniques.
- Maintain records of plant inventory, maintenance activities, and replacement requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for purchasing plants, pots, fertilizers, and horticultural supplies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide recommendations for improving indoor green spaces.
- Train and guide junior horticulture staff on best practices for indoor plant care.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Interact professionally with clients and address plant-related concerns promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in indoor plant maintenance and landscape horticulture.
- Strong knowledge of indoor plant species, plant nutrition, soil media, irrigation, and integrated pest management.
- Familiarity with fertilizers, growth regulators, and plant care equipment.
- Ability to diagnose plant health issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of ornamental plants and interior landscaping.
- Experience in corporate offices, hotels, hospitals, malls, or commercial facilities.
- Familiarity with sustainable horticultural practices and water conservation techniques.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining reports and inventory records.
