Job Description – South Indian Cook (Breakfast Operations)

Job Purpose
To prepare, cook, and present authentic South Indian breakfast dishes while overseeing smooth morning breakfast operations, ensuring high quality, hygiene, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook South Indian breakfast items such as Idli, Dosa, Vada, Uttapam, Upma, Pongal, Appam, Sambhar, Chutneys, and Rasam.
- Plan and execute daily breakfast production as per occupancy and forecast.
- Overlook complete morning breakfast operations, including live counters and buffet service.
- Ensure timely preparation, replenishment, and presentation of breakfast buffet.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
- Monitor food hygiene, safety, and sanitation as per FSSAI & hotel SOP standards.
- Supervise and guide commis and kitchen helpers during breakfast service.
- Ensure proper mise-en-place and preparation before service.
- Minimize wastage and control food cost.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work area, and storage areas.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe standardization, and special breakfast promotions.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and FIFO practices.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Qualification: 10th Pass / Diploma in Hotel Management / Professional Culinary Training
- Experience: 2–6 years as South Indian Cook / Breakfast Cook in hotels, resorts, or reputed restaurants
Working Conditions
- Early morning shifts (5:00 AM – 2:00 PM or as per hotel operations)
- High-volume breakfast service
- Standing for long hours
Salary & Benefits (CTC)
- CTC: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month (depending on experience & skill)
