About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Merchant Solutions Manager to lead merchant onboarding, payment solution implementation, partner engagement, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in merchant acquiring, digital payments, FinTech solutions, POS systems, QR payments, and merchant relationship management. This role will work closely with merchants, banks, payment partners, product teams, and operations to deliver seamless payment and commerce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive merchant acquisition, onboarding, activation, and retention strategies.
- Manage relationships with merchants, aggregators, banks, and payment partners.
- Promote and implement digital payment solutions including UPI, QR, POS, Payment Gateway, and value-added services.
- Identify business opportunities to increase merchant transaction volumes and revenue.
- Collaborate with product and technology teams to enhance merchant payment experiences.
- Develop merchant engagement programs and loyalty initiatives.
- Analyze merchant performance, transaction trends, and customer feedback to recommend improvements.
- Ensure smooth onboarding and compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve merchant escalations and coordinate with internal teams for timely issue resolution.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities.
- Prepare business reports, sales forecasts, and performance dashboards.
- Train merchants on product usage, payment acceptance, and operational best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Merchant Acquiring, Digital Payments, FinTech, Banking, Payment Gateway, or Business Development.
- Strong understanding of merchant payment ecosystems and acquiring business.
- Experience working with UPI, QR Payments, POS Devices, Payment Gateways, and Digital Banking solutions.
- Knowledge of merchant onboarding, KYC processes, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple merchant accounts and business partnerships.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, and business reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with payment aggregators, acquiring banks, or FinTech companies.
- Knowledge of payment regulations issued by National Payments Corporation of India and Reserve Bank of India.
- Experience managing enterprise and large merchant accounts.
- Familiarity with e-commerce, omnichannel commerce, and embedded payment solutions.
- Exposure to SaaS-based merchant solutions and financial technology products.
