A Payroll Specialist in our company is responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with Indian labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. The role typically sits within the HR, Finance, or Shared Services function.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll for 400+ employees.
- Calculate salaries, bonuses, overtime, incentives, reimbursements, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as:
- Provident Fund (PF)
- Employees' State Insurance (ESI)
- Professional Tax (PT)
- Tax Deducted at Source (TDS)
- Labor laws and payroll regulations
- Maintain employee payroll records and update salary changes.
- Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, exits, promotions, and leave adjustments.
- Handle full-and-final settlements for departing employees.
- Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and audits.
- Respond to employee queries regarding salary, taxes, and payslips.
- Support payroll audits and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Indian payroll processes and statutory compliance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certifications in payroll, taxation, or HR can be an advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years with hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Senior Payroll Specialist: 5+ years, often managing complex payrolls or leading a team.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
