Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Estimation and Costing Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years of dedicated experience strictly in project costing, quantity estimation, and client quotation generation for structural steel works, ensuring high commercial precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous material take-offs and compile comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) directly from structural engineering drawings.
- Calculate exact quantities for structural steel components, with a specific focus on hollow sections and complex steel frameworks.
- Generate formal client quotations, precise rate analysis statements, and detailed commercial bids based on material, fabrication, surface treatment, and engineering delivery costs.
- Coordinate directly with engineering and management teams to translate project scopes into clear, competitive techno-commercial proposals.
- Track market price fluctuations for structural steel sections and maintain an updated pricing database to optimize bid accuracy.
Required Qualifications and Professional Skills
- Education: Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of verified professional experience dedicated strictly to structural steel estimation, quantity surveying, costing, and quotation preparation.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of structural steel commercial parameters, fabrication weight calculations, and estimation principles for hollow sections.
- Software Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Excel for complex mathematical estimations, formulas, data analysis, and BOQ preparation. Strong proficiency in standard PDF editing/measurement tools and basic AutoCAD for quantity verification and drawing navigation.
Important Note for Applicants: This position is situated strictly within a specialized engineering consultancy environment. Candidates must have explicit, dedicated experience in the estimation, costing, and commercial quotation of structural steel and hollow sections. Experience limited to or confined exclusively to standard pre-engineered building frameworks will not be accepted as a substitute for this role.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
