Hospital Operations
- Manage and supervise overall hospital operations during the night shift.
- Ensure all departments function smoothly with adequate coordination.
- Monitor patient admissions, transfers, referrals, and discharges.
- Ensure uninterrupted emergency, inpatient, and critical care services.
Patient Care & Experience
- Conduct regular rounds across all wards, ICUs, NICUs, emergency, and reception.
- Address patient and attendant concerns promptly.
- Ensure timely response to emergencies and patient complaints.
- Coordinate with duty doctors and nursing teams to ensure quality patient care.
Staff Supervision
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, and discipline of night-shift employees.
- Ensure all staff remain at their assigned workstations throughout the shift.
- Prevent unauthorized sleeping, negligence, or absence from duty.
- Provide guidance and support to employees during operational challenges.
- Escalate disciplinary issues to HR and Hospital Administration.
Safety & Security
- Conduct scheduled hospital rounds to ensure patient and employee safety.
- Coordinate with the security team to maintain hospital security.
- Monitor visitor movement and ensure compliance with hospital visiting policies.
- Ensure fire safety systems and emergency exits remain accessible.
- Handle emergency situations until senior management arrives.
Emergency Management
- Act as the incident commander during night-shift emergencies.
- Coordinate medical emergencies, code blue situations, fire incidents, and other unexpected events.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all incidents.
- Inform the Hospital Administrator of any major operational issues.
Facility & Maintenance
- Monitor housekeeping standards and cleanliness throughout the hospital.
- Ensure biomedical equipment and essential utilities are functioning properly.
- Coordinate with maintenance for immediate rectification of breakdowns.
- Verify availability of oxygen supply, power backup, and essential hospital services.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain the Night MOD logbook.
- Prepare and submit a detailed night shift report before the end of duty.
- Document incidents, patient complaints, equipment failures, and operational issues.
- Ensure proper handover to the Day MOD or Hospital Administrator.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, SOPs, and infection control protocols.
- Verify that patient records and statutory registers are properly maintained.
- Monitor medication safety, patient identification, and clinical documentation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Nursing, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration (MHA) or MBA (Hospital Management) is preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in hospital operations or healthcare administration.
- Experience in night operations or hospital shift management is preferred.
