- OT Specialist will lead Air India’s end-to-end Operations Transformation mandate - turning reactive operations into a proactive, continuously improving system aligned to the 5-star ambition.
- Support the OPEX transformation portfolio across OTP, turnaround, disruption recovery, and SOP governance, with measurable outcomes.
- Support governance drive forums (OEC- Operations Excellence Committee, MC- Management Committee, CXC- Customer Experience Committee) so decisions convert into binding operational change.
- Translate CXO-level intent into on-ground execution with AOD, Engineering, Network Planning, Analytics, PGC, D&T and other stakeholders.
- Represent Ops Transformation in leadership and CXO reviews with clear insight and credible forward plans.
Functional & Strategic Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the Ops transformation roadmap across quick wins and structural fixes.
- Diagnose operational failures early using data, findings and cross-functional inputs.
- Own delivery governance - milestones, accountability, risk escalation and outcome reporting.
- Lead flagship initiatives: HCC revamp, OCC modernisation, PTS adherence, delay-code integrity, etc.
- Drive measurable OTP gains (A0/A15, D0 / D15, domestic and international).
- Build cost-of-disruption visibility and reduce avoidable IROPS cost.
- Close every initiative with a defined operating model, SOP and governance mechanism to Air India document standards.
Leadership & Project Management
- Support OEC, CXC and MC inputs with structured, decision-ready material and closed-loop action tracking.
- Align AOD, Engineering, Network Planning, Crew, D&T, Flight Ops, or any other function; resolve process gaps and escalate constructively.
- Provide Mission Management Head / OPEX Head with timely, transparent updates on progress and emerging risks to enable proactive decision‑making.
- Work in collaboration with Ops Transformation Lead and Manager – Performance Governance
- Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

- Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation (preferred)– BBA (Aviation) / Aviation Management or a related discipline.
- Master's degree (MBA / PG in Aviation, Operations or Management) an added advantage
- 2-4+(for MBA) and 4-6+ (for Bachelor’s) years in airline operations or transformation.
- In-depth hold of aircraft rotation, OTP, delay attribution, turnaround governance and disruption recovery.
- Proven end-to-end transformation ownership - diagnosis to realize benefit with measurable outcomes.
- Able to produce CXO-level decks, business cases and governance frameworks.
- Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams without direct authority, while ensuring safety and operational standards are maintained.
- Exposure to mission-critical operations and network control in a leading carrier environment.
- Knowledge of IATA standards and DGCA compliance.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or Agile methodologies.
- Experience in multi-fleet, multi-hub network environments.
