Job Description: IT Network Manager (Apple Device Specialist)

Job Purpose
Anandi School is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Network Manager to oversee, maintain, and secure our school’s network infrastructure while leading our Apple device ecosystem. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless connectivity across campus and manage the deployment, configuration, and security of all Apple devices (iPads, MacBooks, iMacs) used by students, faculty, and administration.
Key Responsibilities1. Apple Ecosystem & Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Device Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain all school-owned Apple devices (MacBooks, iPads) using Apple School Manager (ASM) and MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf School, Mosyle, or Kandji).
- App & Content Distribution: Oversee volume purchasing of apps and digital textbooks through ASM, pushing software updates and restrictions seamlessly to student and staff devices.
- Tech Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for macOS and iOS hardware, software, and classroom-specific educational applications.
2. Network & Infrastructure Management
- Campus Connectivity: Maintain, monitor, and optimize the school’s wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) networks to ensure high-speed, uninterrupted connectivity for classrooms, labs, and administration.
- Hardware Maintenance: Oversee the installation and maintenance of network hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, access points, servers, and UPS systems.
- Server Administration: Manage local and cloud-based servers, user directories, and identity management platforms.
3. Cybersecurity & Data Privacy
- Network Security: Implement robust firewall rules, web-filtering software, and intrusion detection systems to protect the school network from malware and unauthorized access.
- Student Safety: Maintain strict internet filters to ensure CIPA compliance, blocking inappropriate content while keeping the digital environment safe for students.
- Backup Management: Maintain secure, automated regular backups of critical school data, student records, and server configurations.
4. IT Support & Vendor Coordination
- Classroom Tech Support: Ensure peripheral devices such as smart boards, projectors, Apple TVs, and printers are fully integrated into the network and operational.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with internet service providers (ISPs), hardware vendors, and Apple representatives for procurement, service renewals, and warranties.
- Inventory Tracking: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, licenses, warranties, and user assignments.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of experience in network administration, preferably within an educational institution or an enterprise environment heavily reliant on Apple infrastructure.
- Apple Expertise: Proficient in Apple School Manager (ASM) and MDM software (Jamf preferred). Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or similar Apple certifications are a huge plus.
- Networking Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and managing enterprise-grade Wi-Fi networks (e.g., Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki, Aruba).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, patience when dealing with non-technical users (teachers/students), and excellent communication skills.
