Job Summary
The Junior X-Ray Technician is responsible for assisting in performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, maintaining radiology equipment, and supporting the efficient operation of the Radiology Department. The role involves producing high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to radiation safety standards and hospital protocols.
Key ResponsibilitiesRadiology Operations
- Perform X-ray examinations as prescribed by physicians under the guidance of senior staff and radiologists.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain the process to ensure cooperation and comfort.
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Verify patient identity and imaging requests before conducting examinations.
- Ensure proper image acquisition, processing, and storage in the hospital imaging system.
Patient Care
- Assist patients before, during, and after imaging procedures.
- Provide reassurance and support to anxious or elderly patients.
- Follow infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Operate X-ray equipment according to established procedures.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions promptly.
- Assist in maintaining imaging equipment and accessories.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of imaging rooms.
Radiation Safety
- Follow radiation protection guidelines for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Use protective devices such as lead aprons, thyroid shields, and radiation badges.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and hospital radiation safety policies.
- Maintain radiation exposure records as required.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging records.
- Ensure proper documentation of examinations performed.
- Assist in quality assurance activities and departmental audits.
- Comply with NABH standards and hospital quality policies.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Radiology Technology / Diploma in X-Ray Technology (DMRT) or
- B.Sc. in Radiology & Imaging Technology or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may apply.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of radiographic procedures and imaging techniques.
- Understanding of radiation safety principles.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment and imaging software.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions
- Hospital-based radiology environment.
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and emergency duties as required.
- Exposure to radiation while following prescribed safety measures.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
