Position Summary
The Waiter / Service Associate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking food & beverage orders, serving guests efficiently, maintaining cleanliness of the café floor, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Service & Floor Operations
- Welcome and greet guests in a polite and professional manner
- Assist customers with seating arrangements and menu guidance
- Take customer orders accurately and coordinate with kitchen/bar counter
- Serve food, beverages, tea, coffee, and desserts as per service standards
- Ensure timely and efficient table service
- Handle customer requests, feedback, and basic complaints courteously
- Maintain proper table setup, cleanliness, and presentation
Billing & Coordination
- Coordinate with cashier for billing and payment collection
- Assist in order punching through POS system (if required)
- Inform customers about ongoing offers, combos, and specials
- Coordinate with kitchen staff for order status and service flow
Hygiene & Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of dining area, service stations, and tables
- Follow food safety and grooming standards at all times
- Ensure crockery, cutlery, and serving items are properly cleaned and arranged
- Support opening and closing activities of the café
Team Support
- Assist fellow staff during rush hours and events
- Support café operations during book launches, events, and customer gatherings
- Perform additional floor duties assigned by management
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Graduate
- 1–3 years of experience in café, restaurant, QSR, or hospitality service
- Good communication and customer handling skills
- Basic understanding of food service etiquette
- Smart grooming and professional behavior
- Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of Bengali, Hindi, and basic English preferred
