Job Purpose
We are inviting applications from motivated and scientifically oriented candidates to join our Reporting Team. The role involves molecular and genetic data analysis, scientific literature review, interpretation and curation of clinical and laboratory data, and preparation and technical review of patient reports.
The position requires strong scientific aptitude, attention to detail, analytical ability, and the ability to translate complex molecular and genetic information into accurate and clinically relevant reporting outputs.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Molecular & Genetic Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze and interpret molecular and genetic data generated from laboratory testing.
- Draft and prepare accurate, complete and clinically relevant patient reports in accordance with established reporting protocols and guidelines.
- Perform appropriate technical checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of reported findings.
- Database, Worksheet & Checklist Management
- Maintain and regularly update reporting databases, worksheets, checklists and other technical records.
- Ensure data integrity, traceability and proper documentation of reporting-related activities.
- Clinical & Laboratory Data Curation
- Collate, organize and curate information related to patient clinical history, test details and laboratory processes.
- Ensure relevant clinical and laboratory information is appropriately incorporated into the reporting workflow.
- Scientific Literature Review
- Search, review and comprehend scientific literature, clinical studies, publications and other credible online scientific sources.
- Analyze scientific evidence and extract relevant information to support updates to reporting databases and interpretation resources.
- Scientific Review & Report Validation
- Conduct scientific reviews of reported findings using current and relevant scientific literature.
- Support validation of report content, interpretations and scientific conclusions.
- Ensure that report interpretations are consistent with available evidence and approved reporting practices.
- Disease Database Development & LIMS Implementation
- Develop, update and maintain disease-specific databases, including:
- Disease Findings
- Pharmacogenomics (PGx)
- Single Nucleotide Variants (SNV)
- Copy Number Alterations (CNA)
- Gene Fusions
- mRNA-related findings
- Support implementation, updating and maintenance of these databases within the LIMS.
- Interdepartmental Coordination & Technical Support
- Coordinate with laboratory, bioinformatics, clinical, quality and other relevant teams to ensure smooth and timely reporting.
- Respond promptly and accurately to technical queries related to molecular/genetic findings and reports.
- Escalate complex or clinically significant technical issues to the appropriate senior team members.
- PT/EQA Interpretation
- Analyze and accurately interpret Proficiency Testing (PT) / External Quality Assessment (EQA) results.
- Support documentation, review and follow-up of PT/EQA findings and associated corrective actions, where applicable.
Qualification & Experience
- M.Sc. in Life Sciences or a relevant life-science discipline.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; fresher’s with strong academic/scientific aptitude may also be considered.
- Strong proficiency in English, with excellent reading, comprehension, and written communication skills, particularly for scientific and technical content.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good proficiency in reading and comprehending scientific literature and technical content.
Preferred Attributes
- Exposure to molecular diagnostics, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or clinical laboratory workflows will be an advantage.
