About the Role
We build software that runs hotel operations — front desk, reservations, housekeeping, and everything that plugs into them. You'll work across the stack: web and Windows desktop interfaces, backend services, and the integration layer that connects our platform to the hardware and third-party systems a property depends on every day — PMS, key encoders, door locks, payment terminals, and more.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-stack features — responsive web interfaces plus Windows desktop applications used at the front desk
- Design and maintain backend services and REST APIs consumed by web, desktop, and partner systems
- Build and own integrations with Property Management Systems (Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds, protel, RMS, or similar), including two-way reservation, folio, and room-status sync
- Integrate hardware and access control: key encoders and electronic door lock systems (Onity, ASSA ABLOY/VingCard, Salto, dormakaba), including mobile key and BLE/RFID flows
- Integrate payment gateways and card-present terminals — tokenization, pre-auth and capture flows, refunds, settlement, and reconciliation
- Implement real-time communication using WebSockets for live room status, availability, and desk-to-desk updates
- Design and consume webhooks for event-driven sync with partner systems; build retry, idempotency, and replay handling
- Work with hardware peripherals over serial/USB/TCP — encoders, receipt printers, cash drawers, ID/passport scanners
- Build resilient sync: offline-tolerant operation, conflict resolution, and graceful degradation when a property loses connectivity
- Write integration documentation and partner-facing API specs
- Monitor production integrations, diagnose issues across our stack and the vendor's, and support live properties
- Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews
- Collaborate with product, support, and implementation teams to ship end-to-end features
Required Qualifications
- Full stack development experience building production software
- Frontend: Strong proficiency in React, Vue, or Angular; TypeScript; modern CSS
- Backend: C#/.NET, Node.js, Python, or Java; API design and service architecture
- Windows desktop: Hands-on experience with WPF, WinForms, .NET, or Electron, including Windows services and installers
- Practical experience building third-party integrations against vendor APIs, SDKs, or socket-level protocols — not just consuming well-documented public APIs
- Solid experience with WebSockets and webhook-based event flows
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL) and caching (Redis)
- Comfort debugging across system boundaries: packet captures, logs, serial traces, vendor sandboxes
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows
Nice to Have
- Direct experience in hospitality tech — PMS, POS, channel managers, or booking engines
- Familiarity with hospitality interface standards and protocols (HTNG, FIAS, OTA/OpenTravel, OXI)
- Channel manager and OTA integrations (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb)
- POS integrations (Oracle Simphony/Micros, Toast, or similar)
- Payments depth: EMV, P2PE, PCI-DSS scope reduction, gateway certification processes
- Access control depth: mobile key provisioning, offline lock audit trails, encoder SDK work
- Message queues and event-driven architecture (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Multi-property / multi-tenant system design
- Experience supporting live deployments at customer sites
