Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced VMC Setter with 10–12 years of hands-on experience in setting, operating, and troubleshooting Vertical Machining Centers (VMC). The candidate should be capable of independently setting up machines, optimizing machining processes, and ensuring production quality and productivity targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up VMC machines according to production requirements.
- Load and unload tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Perform machine offset settings and tool calibration.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Conduct first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain quality standards and follow inspection procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and company policies.
- Train and guide junior operators and setters.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, or related field.
- 10–12 years of experience as a VMC Setter in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC machine setup and operation.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls is preferred.
