About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Design & Estimation Engineer with experience in designing and estimating fire sprinkler systems for U.S.-based projects. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of NFPA standards, sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, material take-offs, and cost estimation.
The role involves preparing code-compliant sprinkler designs, engineering calculations, bill of quantities, and project estimates while ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Fire Sprinkler Systems in accordance with NFPA 13 and project requirements.
- Prepare sprinkler layouts, piping drawings, riser diagrams, and shop drawings using AutoCAD.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing calculations.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to determine design requirements.
- Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTO), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and detailed cost estimates.
- Review project specifications, tender documents, addendums, and RFIs.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and internal teams during design and estimation activities.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
- Support technical proposals and project documentation.
- Maintain design records and drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 13 standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design and Estimation.
- Knowledge of hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Understanding of U.S. Fire Protection design practices and standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Wet Pipe Systems
- Dry Pipe Systems
- Pre-Action Systems
- Deluge Systems
- Fire Pump Systems
- Standpipe Systems
Experience with design software such as:
- HydraCAD
- AutoSPRINK
- AutoCAD
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Fire & Safety, or a related Engineering discipline.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design and Estimation.
- Experience working on U.S. projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and NFPA 20 requirements is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates without Fire Sprinkler Design experience need not apply.
