Position: Legal Officer
Department: Legal & Compliance
Reports To: Chief Legal Officer / General Manager / Managing Director

Job Summary
The Legal Officer is responsible for handling all legal matters of the organization, ensuring statutory compliance, minimizing legal risks, drafting and reviewing legal documents, coordinating litigation, and providing legal guidance to the management. The role also ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Legal Documentation
- Draft, review, vet, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MOUs, NDAs, service agreements, vendor agreements, employment agreements, lease agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure all agreements adequately safeguard the Company's legal interests.
- Maintain a centralized repository of all legal documents and contracts.
2. Litigation Management
- Coordinate with external advocates and legal consultants.
- Prepare case files, legal briefs, and supporting documentation.
- Track the progress of ongoing litigation and ensure timely follow-up.
- Attend court proceedings, arbitration, and legal hearings whenever required.
3. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable Central and State laws.
- Monitor changes in legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate legal compliance with Government Departments and Regulatory Authorities.
- Maintain statutory registers and legal compliance records.
4. Corporate Legal Advisory
- Provide legal opinions to Management on business decisions.
- Identify legal risks associated with business operations.
- Recommend preventive legal measures to minimize litigation.
5. HR & Employment Laws
- Advise HR on labor laws and employment-related matters.
- Draft appointment letters, employment contracts, service agreements, indemnity bonds, confidentiality agreements, disciplinary notices, warning letters, show-cause notices, suspension orders, termination letters, and settlement agreements.
- Handle employee disputes and labor-related legal issues.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
- Coordinate registration of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and domain names.
- Protect the Company's intellectual property rights.
- Monitor misuse or infringement of Company IP.
7. Compliance & Risk Management
- Conduct legal compliance audits.
- Develop legal compliance checklists.
- Maintain legal risk registers.
- Support internal and statutory audits.
8. Policy Development
- Draft and review Company policies, SOPs, and governance documents.
- Ensure policies comply with prevailing legal requirements.
- Assist departments in implementing legal controls.
9. Notices & Legal Correspondence
- Draft legal notices, replies, affidavits, petitions, representations, and legal communications.
- Respond to Government notices and legal queries.
- Liaise with Government authorities when required.
10. Corporate Governance
- Assist in Board Meeting documentation, resolutions, and legal records.
- Support corporate filings and secretarial compliance as applicable.
- Maintain confidentiality of all legal matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) – Mandatory
- Master's Degree (LL.M.) – Preferred
- Enrollment with the Bar Council will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in Corporate Legal, Litigation, or Legal Compliance.
- Experience in IT, Software Development, Education, E-commerce, or Corporate organizations is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Contract Law, Labour Laws, Company Law, and Commercial Laws.
- Familiarity with the Information Technology Act, 2000, Intellectual Property Laws, and Data Privacy regulations.
- Knowledge of POSH Act, Shops & Establishments Act, Industrial Relations Code, Code on Wages, Social Security Code, and Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal documentation software.
- Ability to conduct legal research and interpret statutes.

Additional Responsibilities
- Safeguard the Company's legal interests and reputation.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of legal and business information.
- Support internal investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
- Conduct legal awareness and compliance training for employees.
- Assist Management in strategic legal planning and risk mitigation.
- Perform any other legal assignments entrusted by the Management from time to time.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
