As a QA Engineer specializing in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), you will independently own testing for assigned features or a defined delivery area within an established project QA approach.
You will analyze business requirements, storefront behavior, Business Manager configuration, integration dependencies, and change impact; define appropriate risk-based coverage; execute functional, exploratory, API, integration, and regression testing; investigate defects; and communicate quality status and remaining risks.
You will collaborate with engineering, delivery, product, and client stakeholders and contribute practical SFCC testing knowledge to the project team.
- Own testing for assigned SFCC features or a defined delivery area from requirements analysis through execution, defect follow-up, and quality reporting.
- Review requirements, acceptance criteria, customer journeys, solution details, Business Manager configurations, and integration contracts to identify gaps, dependencies, ambiguities, and testability risks.
- Apply risk-based testing to prioritize critical customer journeys, changed areas, integrations, data conditions, and regression exposure within the established project QA strategy.
- Define and execute effective coverage across storefront, Business Manager, API, integration, system, end-to-end, regression, and exploratory testing levels.
- Validate critical e-commerce journeys including product discovery, product detail, cart, checkout, payments, pricing, promotions, inventory, customer accounts, localization, and order processing.
- Validate relevant SFCC configuration and data in Business Manager, including catalogs, price books, inventory lists, promotions, campaigns, customer groups, site preferences, jobs, feeds, and replication where applicable.
- Design and execute API and integration testing for OCAPI, SCAPI, LINK cartridges, payment, tax, fraud, search, shipping, OMS, ERP, inventory, customer-data, and other connected services.
- Validate authentication, payloads, schemas, negative scenarios, error handling, asynchronous processing, and cross-system data consistency.
- Prepare and maintain suitable test data and verify environment, configuration, integration, and deployment preconditions before relying on test results.
- Investigate and document defects across application, configuration, integration, test-data, environment, and third-party service layers, providing clear evidence, impact, severity rationale, and reproduction steps.
- Estimate assigned QA work and communicate assumptions, dependencies, blockers, test-data needs, regression impact, and remaining quality risks.
- Participate in refinement, technical discussions, defect triage, status reviews, release validation, and production smoke testing, raising quality concerns early.
- Identify valuable automation candidates and contribute to automated regression coverage when an established framework and assignment scope support it.
- Apply baseline accessibility, performance, security, resilience, browser, device, and localization checks to critical journeys, escalating when specialist validation is required.
- Use approved AI-assisted QA tools for analysis, test design, documentation, and defect investigation while validating generated outputs against requirements and application evidence.
- Typically 2+ years of professional software-testing experience, including hands-on Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C testing experience.
- Practical knowledge of SFCC storefront functionality and Business Manager configuration.
- Experience with at least one SFCC implementation model such as SFRA, SiteGenesis, etc.
- Experience with requirements analysis, risk-based testing, exploratory testing, functional testing, regression testing, and defect management.
- Hands-on API and integration-testing experience using Postman or an equivalent tool, including authentication, payload validation, negative scenarios, error handling, and data consistency.
- Experience testing critical e-commerce journeys and third-party services such as payment, tax, fraud, search, shipping, OMS, ERP, or inventory systems.
- Ability to prepare test data, validate environment and configuration preconditions, and distinguish application defects from configuration, integration, data, or environment issues.
- Ability to estimate assigned work and communicate assumptions, blockers, technical issues, quality status, and residual risks clearly.
- Solid understanding of web fundamentals including HTTP, REST, browser behavior, cookies, sessions, and client-server interaction.
- Professional English communication skills sufficient for effective collaboration in a global delivery environment.
