Position Overview
A Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and plant machinery. The role requires hands-on skills in fitting, alignment, and preventive maintenance to ensure smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Installation
- Fit and assemble machine parts, piping, and structural components.
- Install equipment as per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine maintenance of pumps, valves, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out corrective repairs.
- Alignment & Adjustment
- Ensure proper alignment of shafts, couplings, and bearings.
- Adjust machinery for optimal performance.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow plant safety procedures and use PPE.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop and plant area.
- Documentation
- Record maintenance activities and report equipment status.
- Assist supervisors in preparing maintenance logs.
Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
