Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations, provide timely technical support to users, and help maintain a secure and reliable IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve IT incidents through remote and onsite support.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Manage user accounts, email configurations, and password resets.
- Monitor system performance and perform preventive maintenance.
- Configure and support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi networks, routers, switches, and internet connectivity.
- Install and maintain antivirus software, security patches, and system updates.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or vendors when required.
- Support backup and recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security standards.
- Provide end-user training and guidance on IT best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Active Directory.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and system maintenance.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, service engineering, or desktop support.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or ITIL are an advantage.
