- Supervise daily housekeeping operations in wards, ICU, OP, OT, and common areas
- Prepare duty rosters and manage staff attendance
- Assign duties and ensure proper shift coverage
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and hospital hygiene standards
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of high-risk areas (ICU, OT, isolation rooms)
- Oversee biomedical waste segregation and disposal as per guidelines
- Conduct regular cleanliness audits and inspections
- Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials, PPE, and equipment
- Coordinate with purchase/store for timely supply of materials
- Train housekeeping staff on:
- Cleaning procedures
- Use of chemicals and equipment
- Safety and infection control practices
- Handle patient/attender complaints regarding cleanliness and resolve quickly
- Ensure proper linen management (collection, washing coordination, distribution)
- Monitor pest control activities and report issues
- Ensure all housekeeping staff follow uniform, grooming, and discipline standards
- Maintain records and reports (daily cleaning checklist, attendance, stock register)
- Support hospital during inspections (NABH or internal audits)
