About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Associate Manager - Sales to drive merchant acquisition, onboarding, and growth initiatives. This role focuses on building PayU's merchant ecosystem through digital channels, managing the complete merchant lifecycle from initial contact to successful onboarding and ongoing relationship management. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize lead conversion and deliver exceptional merchant experiences.
Responsibilities:
Merchant Acquisition & Lead Conversion
Drive merchant acquisition through online platforms, digital channels, and inbound lead management
Convert qualified leads into successful merchant partnerships through consultative selling approach
Conduct product demonstrations and present PayU's payment solutions to prospective merchants
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, Technical) to optimize lead conversion rates
Merchant Onboarding & Platform Management
Manage end-to-end merchant onboarding process through PayU's online platforms
Guide merchants through documentation, KYC compliance, and technical integration requirements
Ensure seamless transition from sales to implementation, coordinating with technical and operations teams
Monitor onboarding success metrics and identify process improvement opportunities
Merchant Servicing & Relationship Management
Provide ongoing support to merchants through digital platforms and communication channels
Address merchant queries, technical issues, and service requests promptly and effectively
Monitor merchant satisfaction levels and proactively identify at-risk accounts
Serve as primary point of contact for merchant escalations and relationship management
Performance Management & Analytics
Track and achieve individual sales targets for merchant acquisition and revenue growth
Maintain accurate pipeline data and merchant information in CRM systems
Generate regular reports on sales performance, conversion metrics, and merchant portfolio health
Participate in sales forecasting and strategic planning initiatives
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in sales, business development, or merchant acquisition roles
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related field
Digital platform experience with online customer acquisition and servicing
Strong sales acumen with proven track record of achieving targets and building client relationships
Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi with ability to conduct virtual presentations
Customer-centric mindset with focus on merchant success and satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications:
Fintech or payments industry experience with understanding of merchant onboarding processes
B2B sales experience particularly with SMEs, startups, or e-commerce businesses
Digital commerce knowledge including online marketplaces, payment gateways, and merchant services
CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot) and digital sales tools
Technical aptitude to understand payment integration processes and merchant technical requirements
Industry Knowledge:
Payment Solutions: Understanding of payment gateways, UPI, wallets, and digital payment methods
Merchant Ecosystem: Knowledge of e-commerce, retail, and service business models
Compliance Awareness: Basic understanding of KYC, AML, and merchant onboarding regulations
Digital Platforms: Experience with online sales processes, virtual meetings, and digital customer journeys
