About the Role
School 10X is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services to students and staff at our Bengaluru campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to child and adolescent health in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff
- Assess and respond to student health concerns; determine need for referral or hospital care
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate medication and treatment records
- Manage and maintain student health records, immunization tracking, and health screening data
- Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)
- Conduct basic health check-ups, vision/hearing screenings, and health awareness sessions
- Ensure the school infirmary/medical room is well-equipped, clean, and compliant with health standards
- Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and parents on health-related matters
- Promote hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and preventive care through student and staff education
- Handle communicable disease control and coordinate with local health authorities when required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: B.Sc. Nursing or GNM (Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery)
- Registration: Valid registration with Karnataka State Nursing Council / Indian Nursing Council (INC)
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience (school, paediatric, or hospital setting preferred)
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (preferred)
- Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and effectively
- Proficiency in English (Kannada/Hindi is a plus)
- Computer literacy for maintaining digital health records
